EnSilica and Arm define new Arm based SoC architecture for industrial robots

Industrial robots are shifting from performing fixed functions to working alongside humans in dynamic environments. But how do you keep people safe and costs down?

We at Arm, with the help of our Arm Functional Safety partner EnSilica, have worked on a proposal for two configurations of robots controllers (ISO 13849 Cat 3 PLd) that promise to achieve the safety requirements as well as reducing cost and power. Thank you also to TÜV SÜD for assessing the work and providing their positive feedback!

EnSilica provide a customer digital and mixed ASIC design and supply service for industrial and automotive SoCs using the Arm processor IP.
